Microsoft reports promising AI diagnostic results ahead of clinical testing
Microsoft has reported research results for MAI-DxO, an AI diagnostic system that uses several agents to propose diagnoses, choose tests and challenge one another’s reasoning, according to the supplied newsletter.
The account describes evaluations on complex medical cases and more typical emergency-department cases, with improvements in diagnostic accuracy and test costs against the study’s selected comparators.
Performance on a research benchmark does not establish that a system improves patient outcomes in everyday care. The report says clinical testing is planned at Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston. The study methods, comparisons and clinical timetable need confirmation before precise performance claims can be published.
