Stage Nation's first performance hands young people a huge stage to shine on

Gilbert went to watch Stage Nation’s inaugural performance in Richmond on Sunday 5th July. I was there as a guest of my friend Ramika who leads the National Youth Arts Trust charity.

Not knowing what to expect, and without any real expectations, I was blown away.

It was great to see so many amazing performances. I particularly liked the four Laine Theatre students dancing! So professional, and technically impressive. Also, watching the ballet performers move around in perfect sync was special too. But honestly, all the performers were amazing. Went in thinking it was gonna be an amateur performance, and wow was I wrong. So much energy in that theatre!

Stage Nation provides opportunities for young people to experience performing on the biggest stages, perhaps inspiring a future journey for them in the arts industry. The brilliant Stage Nation is only just getting started, with this being their first show. Founder Samantha Lindsay, who has also run performing arts academy Dancebites for over 25 years, said in the programme this is “the beginning of something special”. Gilbert’s excited to see that journey!

They are gonna go again next year in May, staging ‘The Next Level’ in Guildford. Will you be there? I hope I will be!
