Over 1,000 Dads and Kids Celebrate Father's Day at London Zoo

More than 1,000 fathers and children swapped traditional Father's Day plans for a special wildlife adventure at London Zoo on Sunday.

Families from the Camden Dads group spent the day exploring the zoo, joining wildlife talks, craft activities and nature experiences designed to bring parents and children closer together. A handful of lucky visitors received golden tickets to meet the zoo's popular capybara pair, Gizmo and Kiwi.

The event was made possible by a £500,000 legacy gift to conservation charity ZSL, which runs London Zoo. The donation was given to help families spend quality time together outdoors while connecting with the natural world.

Owen Craft, Director of Zoo Operations at ZSL, said: "At ZSL, we know that nature is essential for people's mental and physical health, and we see the benefits of people spending time together in nature every day in our zoos."

The legacy will also support conservation work along the River Thames, including recruiting a learning officer to work with schools and communities, helping young people learn about local wildlife and protect one of the UK's most important waterways.
