Medical support helps families enjoy a Disneyland break
Seven-year-old Bella spent last year having intensive chemotherapy. Last weekend, her mother watched her playing at Disneyland Paris with friends she had met in hospital.
The family joined the Magical Taxi Tour, which takes children with serious illnesses and their relatives from London to the park. Medical support travels with them: London Ambulance Service supplied two ambulances and two response cars, with paramedics volunteering their time.
A sponsor’s account records around 100 licensed taxis leaving Canary Wharf on 25 September for the three-day trip. Vehicle maker LEVC says this year’s convoy used its TX model, with built-in wheelchair ramps and other accessibility features.

The support matters because crews can provide care if a child becomes ill or needs to return home urgently. A short holiday does not remove those needs, and the trip relies on volunteers and sponsors.
But it can create space for something beyond treatment. Bella’s mother described a weekend when the family could enjoy being together, with medical help close by.
